Careers

Build systems that still work in year five.

We are a small building automation shop in Watchung, New Jersey. The work is Tridium Niagara integration, custom control panels, and field service across supermarkets, office towers, housing portfolios, and infrastructure. We hire people who like finishing things properly.

Who we hire

Four kinds of people, at every level.

These are the roles the work naturally needs. Openings come and go with the project load, so we would rather have your resume on file before we need it than post an ad the week we do.

Field

Controls technician

Installs, terminates, and checks out control systems on site. Point-to-point, startup, and service calls. You drive to buildings, read drawings, and leave the panel cleaner than you found it.

  • Low-voltage wiring and terminations
  • Reading control and electrical drawings
  • Meter, laptop, and a clean work habit
  • HVAC or electrical background helps
Shop

Panel builder

Lays out and wires control panels in our shop from a drawing set, then tests them before they ship. Neat wire management, correct labeling, and a panel that matches the print every time.

  • Panel layout and wiring from drawings
  • Labeling, terminal strips, wire management
  • Factory acceptance testing
  • Hand tools, crimpers, patience
Entry level

Apprentice or helper

No controls experience needed. You work alongside a technician or in the shop, learn the trade from the terminal strip up, and grow into one of the other three roles. A trade school background or a year in HVAC or electrical is a good start.

  • Reliable, on time, willing to learn
  • Comfortable with hand tools and heights
  • Valid driver’s license
  • We will teach the rest
What we look for

Skills we can teach. Habits are harder.

Our name comes from the veterans who got called in when the line was in trouble. The people who do well here share a few habits, whatever their experience level.

  • You finish the job, including the labels and the as-builts.
  • You say “I do not know yet” instead of guessing on a live system.
  • You write down what you changed so the next person is not surprised.
  • You can work in an occupied building without anyone noticing you were there.
  • You would rather ask a question early than fix a mistake late.

What happens next

A person reads it, not a filter. If there is a fit, we call to talk for twenty minutes, then bring you in to see the shop and meet the crew. If there is no opening today, we tell you that and keep your resume for the next one, if you said we could.
